Balchik is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Bulgaria, an international resort with rich history, incredible architecture and wonderful nature. It is located in north-eastern Bulgaria on the Black Sea coast, 40 km away from Varna.
The International choir festival “Chernomorski zvutsi” is a true celebration of the song, sea, harmony, beauty and friendship.
236 choirs – more than 6000 singers from Bulgaria, France, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Slovakia, Israel, USA, Canary Islands, Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Poland, Moldavia, Serbia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Angola, Turkey and Greece participated in the past 12 festival editions.
The great goal of the festival is to build bridges between nations, cultures, composers, conductors and choirs from all over the world.
The “Chernomorski zvutsi” International Choir Festival awarded with a Certificate of Distinction
We are deeply honored to announce that the “Black Sea Sounds” International Choir Festival has been awarded a Certificate of Distinction in the “Festival” category by the Bulgarian Association of Employers in the Field of Culture (BAEFC) and the Civic Institute. This prestigious recognition highlights our festival’s significant contribution to expanding young people’s access to culture.
The award was presented to our Artistic Director, Dr. Valentina Georgieva, during the official ceremony held at the 10th National Conference “Access of Young People to Culture” at the Flora Expo Center in Burgas on August 12–13 2024. Dr. Georgieva also had the privilege of presenting the work of the “Musical World – Balchik” Association through her insightful presentation titled “With Energy and Love for the Voices That Inspire Tomorrow.”
This recognition is a testament to the dedication and passion of everyone involved in our festival. We are thrilled to be part of a community that champions the role of culture and the arts in the lives of young people. We extend our heartfelt thanks to BAEFC, the Civic Institute, and all of our supporters. Let us continue to unite around the shared vision of “More Art in School” and inspire the next generation through music and creativity.

Taking part in this festival has been one of the most wonderful experiences of my life! There are too many joyful moments to count, shared with amazing people from every corner of the globe. This yearly gathering of beautiful music and incredible energy enriches my life beyond measure!
Being part of the festival demands our full focus, yet it rewards us with immense joy. Seeing the young and cheerful faces singing in Balchik fills me with happiness. The unique atmosphere we create here in Balchik is something I’ve never experienced at any other festival. It’s truly special!
After months of hard work, seeing all the choirs come together is an incredible feeling. There are smiles everywhere, a sense of community, and so much music filling the air. Knowing that I helped make this happen is truly uplifting.
I’m thrilled to be part of this musical world we’re all building together, a world that truly transforms once the festival starts. Let’s make memories that will bring joy and smiles to our faces for years to come.
I absolutely adore this festival. While everything is planned out, there’s always a bit of exciting last-minute action that keeps me on my toes and thoroughly entertained throughout the event.
I missed the festival last year, but I’m so grateful that things worked out this time, allowing me to contribute once again to the cultural growth of my hometown.
